EurOMA is a community where people can freely develop and share ideas, learn from and support one another, and have constructive academic conversations. We recognize that critique and honest feedback are essential to academia, and we aim to offer them in a respectful, supportive, and mindful manner.
EurOMA thrives when we see the following behaviors:
A. Meet and exceed standard norms of academic integrity.
B. Contribute to a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
C. Value diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and ways of thinking.
D. Stay aware of power imbalances.
E. Be aware of and respect personal boundaries.
F. Create a safe space for others to participate, especially newcomers.
G. Reflect on your own biases and how your behavior may affect others.
H. Be respectful, even when you strongly disagree.
I. Focus feedback on ideas, not people.
J. Respect the confidentiality of others’ unpublished work.
K. Acknowledge others’ contributions.
L. Listen actively and remain open to learning.
Behaviors that contradict the principles above are not welcome. If you observe or experience behavior that violates this Code of Conduct at EurOMA events in a way that compromises participants’ dignity or mental and physical well-being, please report it to the EurOMA President or Secretary. Reports will be handled with care and discretion, and case involvement will be limited to strictly necessary parties.
Together, we can create an environment where everyone feels respected, safe, and able to contribute fully. Thank you for being part of EurOMA.
